# August Audio > August Audio is a studio that builds performance instruments for iOS, with the feel of real hardware. Its instrument is Cue8, a live act groove box for iPhone: eight synthesized channels locked to one groove, a song arranger, and bar quantized performance effects for playing a full set live. Cue8 is available on the App Store for iPhone (iOS 18 or later): https://apps.apple.com/app/id6765797832 ## Cue8 at a glance - Eight fixed channels: kick, snare, closed hat, open hat, tom, percussion, bass and synth. Every voice is synthesized live by its own engine; there are no samples. - Bass: monophonic, two oscillators with morphing waveshapes, a resonant ladder filter, glide and drive. Synth: three voices with a full arpeggiator. - Each channel holds eight pattern variations (A to H) plus two fills. Drums run 16 steps with triplet grids; bass and synth run up to 64 steps with their own length and resolution. - Song mode chains patterns into sections of 2 to 32 bars that advance on their own, with tempo automation per section (40 to 240 BPM). - Two modes: EDIT is the studio, ACT is the stage. - Five bar quantized performance pads (filter, hold, gater, riser, throw), dual auto fills, and an assignable performance knob on every channel. - Master console: eight band EQ, a global LFO that can target any knob, groove (swing, contrast, humanize), accent, and shared delay, reverb and chorus sends. - 12 keys and 17 scales; note entry locks to the key. - 15 factory templates across 15 genres and 55 sound presets. Templates: Earth (House), Moon (Deep House), Nebula (Melodic Techno), Jupiter (Tech House), Mars (Techno), Comet (Electro), Mercury (UK Garage), Venus (Acid), Nova (Trance), Saturn (Synthwave), Uranus (Dubstep), Black Hole (Trap), Supernova (Psy Trance), Neptune (UK Drill), Pulsar (Drum & Bass). - MIDI export: eight channels written as a standard Type 1 MIDI file that opens in any DAW, one track per channel. - Sharing: templates travel as .cue8 files; an in-app community lets players publish, browse, follow and import grooves. - iCloud keeps work across devices, and everything plays offline. No account is needed to play. - Cue8 is a standalone app. It is not an AUv3 plugin and does not sync over Ableton Link or MIDI clock; music leaves the app as a MIDI file. ## Who it is for People who want to perform electronic music live from a phone: live act performers rehearsing transitions away from the studio, producers sketching on the road before moving to a DAW, and newcomers taking their first steps with a complete, genre ready set. ## Pages - [Cue8](https://augustaudio.io/cue8/): product overview and full specifications - [Cue8 features guide](https://augustaudio.io/cue8/features/): a control by control tour of the home screen, the disk, the mixer, the performance effects and every channel - [Transitions guide](https://augustaudio.io/cue8/transitions/): one live transition per factory template, the gesture and why it fits the genre - [Tour video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CONP2YtJmZg): eight minute walkthrough on YouTube - [Support](https://augustaudio.io/support/): requirements, purchases and contact - [About](https://augustaudio.io/about/): the studio ## Contact - Email: contact@augustaudio.io - YouTube: https://youtube.com/@augustaudioio - Instagram: https://instagram.com/augustaudio.io - X: https://x.com/augustaudioio
